SAN DIEGO – DOD FED GLOBE has released this video featuring lesbian comedian Sarah Burford, who was discharged from the Navy for being a lesbian.

Burford said she never was caught “being a lesbian,” but was pursued by a superior officer who thought she might be. Burford said she was harassed, and that the ordeal was a very painful experience.

Although the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” discharge happened 15 years ago, the pain of having her whole world turned upside down is still very real, Burford said.
