SAN DIEGO -- To ensure that the community has a voice in San Diego LGBT Pride, the organization is creating a Community Advisory Council.

An information session will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, where those interested in participating will learn about the requirements for the selection process and commitment involved with serving on the council.

San Diego Pride produces a number of civic, cultural and educational programs year-round to support and encourage pride within the LGBT community. The organization's signature event is San Diego LGBT Pride weekend, which includes a parade and two-day festival.

The Community Advisory Council will provide a forum for input and recommendations on matters of significant interest to San Diego LGBT Pride.

The information session will be held at The San Diego LGBT Community Center, 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest.
