WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Transgender Law Center (TLC) is applauding the announcement by the U.S. Department of Labor that it will "explicitly prohibit work place discrimination on the basis of gender identity within the department."

The changes in employment policy also included additional updated policies which now prohibit discrimination based on sex, including gender identity and pregnancy.

MINNEAPOLIS - A comprehensive new report, "Injustice at Every Turn," reveals the depth of discrimination against transgender and gender non-conforming people in a wide range of areas, including education, health care, employment and housing.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) released the report today.
