Davis, Calif., police ID suspect in possible hate crime attack on gay man | VIDEO

DAVIS, Calif. — Police in Davis, Calif., have identified a suspect in a brutal attack on a gay man last weekend, and said they were investigating the violent beating as a possible hate crime.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Glenn Glasgow told LGBTQ Nation on Thursday that a 911 call was received at about 3:50 am Sunday morning reporting a male had been attacked.

The police report indicated that Mikey Partida, 32, was leaving a party when he was “violently attacked and beaten.”

MESQUITE, Texas — A Texas woman claims she is the victim of a hate crime after she was attacked in an elementary school playground for protecting a bullied 4-year-old boy.

The attack left Sondra Scarber, 27, with a shattered jaw that’s been wired shut, and a is badly swollen and bruised face.

“I can’t do anything for myself,” she said through tears.

Facebook post boasts of anti-gay hate crimes

CANBERRA, Australia -- The administrator of a confessional webpage is unrepentant after publishing the offensive boasts of a Canberra man who said he had committed hate crimes against gay men in Civic.

Facebook page Canberra Confessions published an anonymous post from a Canberran who claimed he had met gay men in Cube nightclub in order to lure them outside and bash them.

The confession said the man faked his sexuality to set the trap and then robbed his victims after the assault.

The author bragged he had assaulted three men already and planned to continue the practice.

Teenage lesbian reportedly stoned by ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students

GANEU TIKVA, Israel -- A teenage lesbian was attacked by a group of ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students in Ganei Tikva in the center of the country on Sunday, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old alleged that she was assaulted because of her sexual orientation and appearance. She told police that she encountered a group of students outside their yeshiva while she was walking in a religious neighborhood, after taking her bicycle to be repaired.
