Del Mar Ractrack Summer Concerts Preview: Ben Harper

The Del Mar Racetrack, San Diego’s most stylish and thrilling annual event, celebrates the new season with Opening Day festivities on July 20, and will run through September 7, 2011.

Boasting seven jam-packed weeks of world-class Thoroughbred horse racing and weekly free concerts and events, the legendary Del Mar Racetrack season is something every local and visitor must experience first-hand. While we can’t wait to indulge in all things racetrack fashion, betting, and after-parties, our first sneak peek of the upcoming season is an exclusive glimpse into the 2011 Del Mar Racetrack Summer Concert Series.

The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is proud to announce that Ben Harper will take the stage on Labor Day Sunday, September 4 during the 2011 Del Mar Summer Concert Series. Ben Harper’s 10th studio album, Give Till It’s Gone, releases to the public on May 17th and Harper is launching a worldwide tour to support it. Australia, New Zealand, Chile, France and select locations in the United States – including Del Mar – will host Harper and his captivating live performances. Not only will this be Ben Harper's debut at Del Mar, but it will also be the debut of the Seaside Stage. With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop the new venue will offer an unmatched outdoor concert experience that includes majestic views, clear acoustics and a warm summer evening atmosphere.
