MTV invaded San Diego this summer, and now the 26th season of “The Real World” is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 28th. This marks the second time "The Real World" calls San Diego home, following the infamously drama-packed 14th season.
The dynamic cast now includes the following: ambitious Ashley, a business/marketing grad who has never lived with anyone but her mother; hurricane Frank, a former sports star unsure of his sexuality; womanizer Nate, a popular guy who parties hard; accomplished Alexandra, a singer/songwriter/gymnast who got into Stanford at the age of 15; stud lesbian Sam, a girlfriend stealer passionate about gay rights; flirtatious Priscilla, a young Mexican beauty with high goals; and conservative Zach, a semi-pro football player with small-town values.
When locals got wind of where the cast was living, things got a bit of control. Due to complaints from neighbors about noise and traffic caused by fans, MTV producers were forced to hire two officers to patrol the multi-million dollar mansion in the quiet community of Bird Rock, La Jolla. On the flip side, locals were also complaining that they have had to sign waivers while trying to work out at Shock Fitness, as the Real World cast was also there in full effect.
While not getting in gym time, sources say the cast members have been spotted working at The House of Blues, a popular music venue in San Diego. And, it’s not all gym, partying, and work for these determined folks. The crew has also been helping out our community through charity work, including Frank’s support of LGBT through work with itgetsbetter.org and Nate’s interest in suicide prevention work with thelivingmemoir.com (including a charity event at Stingaree). More of their favorite restaurants and bars include Eden, Millers Field, Voyeur, BeachWood, Whisknladle, Rubicon Deli, Phil’s BBQ, and Bird Rock Coffee Roasters.
