McFadden’s Grand Opening Weekend – 10/6-8
The newest member of the Gaslamp nightlife scene, McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon celebrates the official grand opening this weekend. And in true city style there will be three big bashes, kicking off with a VIP unveiling party on Thursday, followed by a Playboy Calendar Girl Search on Friday, and the Calendar Girl Finale party on Saturday hosted by the one and only Vanilla Ice. Stop, collaborate and listen.
Ocean Beach Oktoberfest – 10/7-8
The Oktoberfest festivities continue this weekend with a sea-side celebration in Ocean Beach. This multifaceted event features six cover bands performing live and competing for $4,000 in prizes, as well as a craft beer garden, a sausage toss contest, bratwurst eating contest, and even a 5K run dubbed The Brat Trot. Ocean Beach Oktoberfest is going down Friday from 4 to 10pm and Saturday from 9am to 8pm.
Taste of North Park – 10/8
Known as our city’s emerging art district, North Park is also a community regarded for a delicious culinary culture. If you’ve yet to try many of the new restaurants in North Park, this is your weekend to splurge. The third annual Taste of North Park event is this Saturday, featuring 45 of the area’s top eateries along “Restaurant Row” on 30th Street from El Cajon Blvd to Upas Street. A few must-try participating restaurants include The Smoking Goat, El Take It Easy, Sea Rocket Bistro, The Linkery, Urban Solace and West Coast Tavern. Taste of North Park takes place from 11am to 4pm and pre-sale tickets are $35 per person.
The Gourmet Experience at Del Mar Fairgrounds – 10/8-9

Fall Thread Show at Horton Plaza Mall – 10/9
Just in time for your fall fashion shopping spree, Thread is back in San Diego this Sunday from 11am to 5pm at Horton Event Space. Little Italy Festa – 10/9
Festa is an annual festival that celebrates Italian culture through entertainment, arts and crafts, live music, and plenty of Italian cuisine. This Sunday from 10am to 6pm, our own Little Italy will fill the streets with three live music stages, an “Italian Table” stage with cooking demonstrations, a stickball exhibition game, a bocce ball tournament, a Kids Fun Zone and more.
