We have come to expect sky-high price points for beauty services. When it comes to our skin, hair, and nails, we never want to cut corners or sacrifice quality, and so we blindly accept paying outrageous amounts for facials, blowouts, and manicures. After all, you can’t put a number on a perfect first impression.

During the hot summer months, I have only one goal on my mind: getting a dark bronze glow that will be the envy of the town. From lounging poolside at my downtown condo, to pool-party hopping across swanky hotel rooftops, relaxing afternoons on the sandy beach, and energizing outdoor fitness activities, I am never, ever without my SPF and tanning oil. I am blessed with an olive complexion and a natural ability to bronze with the best of them, but after months of extreme tanning, even my gifted skin needs some TLC.

I consider myself a pretty athletic person. I’ve been actively engaged in some form of fitness my entire life. But despite my honorable workout habits, I’ve never, ever been a good runner. I breathe wrong. I get horrible side aches. I’m kind of like Phoebe Buffay from that classic “Friends” episode, except I’m typically not having as much fun while flailing my arms around.

Truth be told, I have fallen madly in love. This season when spring is in the air and there seems to be a new couple sprouting up every other day, I have found the one that has stolen my heart.

The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn swept me right off my feet this season and into a reclined chair poolside served with lunch and a generous spa treatment, not to mention steam and sauna rooms, 2,500 square-foot pool, manicured gardens, elegant white cabanas, and tasty treats throughout the day. This is undeniably true love.
