SAN DIEGO -- While a typical weekend night at Rich's San Diego could be described as "wild," the club plans to be the place "where the wild things are" at this Saturday's jungle theme party.
Rich's will be transformed into a jungle paradise at "The Jungle," which is a special party presented in conjunction with San Diego Pix. Not only will the club be decked out with amazing decorations, but there will also be special performances, jungle go-go boys and dance music with a tribal flair.
Resident DJ Nikno has been working to put together a special set of dark and heavy beats for the night that will compliment the theme and keep guests dancing all night long.
San Diego Pix photographer and San Diego Gay & Lesbian News Nightlife Columnist Jim Winsor will be at the event and said that it will be a fun, memorable night.
"This is one of my favorite Rich's parties of the year," said Winsor, who also noted that the party gives guests the opportunity to test drive their costumes for the annual Zoo Party, held over San Diego Pride weekend.
Typically, theme events at Rich's draw a large amount of guest participation, with all sorts of creative and outrageous costumes coming through the door. The Jungle Party will be no different, with guests encouraged to dress in theme.
The club is expected to be at full capacity with lines forming by 11 pm so early arrival is suggested. Doors open at 10 pm.
Those with SDPIX VIP Memberships will receive half-off the cover charge before 11 pm. Guests may also text SDPIX to 313131 to receive a welcome message which can also be shown to one of the cashiers for half-off cover before 11 pm.
