Do you have another occupation beside dancing, if so, what is it?

Yes, I have been in property management for five years. I help rent apartments in the Point Loma area.

When did you begin go-go dancing?

I started in Sept. of 2008.

I moved here from Tucson, Arizona (where I went to college). I had come to San Diego a couple months prior, which I didn't know was during Pride season.

I fell in love with the vibe of the gay community here, I saw all the guys dancing and having a great time and I knew I had to do it. I went back to Arizona and danced for a club once or twice and was hooked.

Then I met Paris here in San Diego, who was booking dancers at the time, and mentioned I was interested. She got me right on the scene quick and showed me the fun side of everything that go-go life has to offer.

What clubs do you usually dance at?

I used to dance at Numbers years ago, along with Bacchus House, Rich's and Spin.

As of now, I am more focused on my day job and long term success than dancing, although I still go-go at House.Boi events and holiday/festival events in Hillcrest, Las Vegas (Piranah) and every now and then Shark Nightclub in Orange County.

I also dance back in Chicago when I go home for holidays.

Do you have a favorite venue to dance at, and why?

I'd have to say my favorite booking in the past was always Rich's. I remember just staying up there all night with no breaks, the people, the interaction and the unforgettable beats of DJ Nikno.

What's the worst pick-up line you've ever received while up on the box?

"Hey if you wanna relax after, you should come over and chill in my hot tub" ... I'm like, egh, no, LOL!

What was your largest tip (and is there a backstory behind that)?

Once while dancing in Vegas I got two $100 bills, drinks on him and a night in his suite at the Venetian. He was a traveling businessman who just wanted some fun and the company of a good looking guy.

What's the funniest interaction you've had with someone on the dance floor?

I think just people in general being crazy at the club, just saying whatever comes to their mind, and with no filter.

What do you love most about go-go dancing?

Great question! I would have to say (and the reason why I will never totally give go-going up), is making people have a great time, the makeup and the costumes.

Some people are sometimes nervous or shy to dance at the club, just making those people feel welcome, making them dance and have a great time.

I think sometimes dancers can get an attitude that makes them unapproachable, and I feel I have never gotten that way, I'm a lean, good looking guy, not a big buff guy like some think you have to be, I just LOVE TO DANCE.

I truly love meeting so many different kinds of people from so many different places, and always feel privileged to dance at any venue.

How do you stay in shape for dancing?

Well I'm a naturally a thin guy, but I do take time for regular visits to the gym, runs through Balboa Park and some tanning.

What advice would you give to a newcomer who wants to start working up there on the box?

My advice would be to take time and think about why you want to go-go dance; understand there are ups and down to the profession and people will always have something to say, both good and bad.

Just stay true to yourself, don’t change for anyone, don’t let anyone tell you no or that you're not good enough, and don’t let anyone put you down.

Confidence is key.
