SAN DIEGO -- With RuPaul's surprise announcement Monday night that the winner of this season's "Drag Race" would not be announced for another week, many San Diegans are rallying in support of homegrown contestant Chad Michaels.
After what was supposed to be the season finale aired Monday night, viewers across the nation learned they would have to wait until Monday, April 30 to find out who will be crowned winner. RuPaul will crown "America's Next Drag Superstar" during the taping of the "RuPaul's Drag Race Reunion" episode, in front of a live audience in Los Angeles.
In a release, Logo said that fans who want to help "influence RuPaul's decision" between now and the reunion taping show can tweet him at #DragRace. "He's really listening to the fans to help make his decision," the release said.
Urban Mo's Bar & Grill, which holds a weekly "RuPaul's Drag Race" viewing party hosted by Michaels, sent a "Call to Action" out to its e-mail list encouraging Chad Michaels fans and supporters to Tweet their votes of support to @RuPaulsDrag Race, using the hashtags #TeamChad and #DragRace.
"Gurl, I know!!! We are still stunned! We can't believe that the 'crafty little witch' RuPaul is making us wait till next week to find out who will win the coveted title of America's Next Drag Superstar," said the e-mail blast from Mo's "fabulous" marketing and PR team. "So Ladykins, we need your help to crown our very own Chad Michael's! Let your voice be heard and start clicking before the clock stops ticking!"
Those who do not have Twitter accounts can sign into Facebook and post their vote on the wall of the RuPaul's Drag Race fan page.
