In her new book, "Love Warriors: The Rise of the Marriage Equality Movement and Why It Will Prevail," psychologist and author Davina Kotulski discusses the negative impact on LGBT kids "growing up in a world that tells them that their love is disgusting, and despises them for being true to their heart."

"This would be devastating to anyone, but especially to a young person who is isolated and may not have the support and resources that adults are able to seek out," Kotulski said.
