Who won the 2013 Gaybie Awards?

PHILADELPHIA – The 2013 Gaybie Awards have been announced today by TLA Video.

Nominations were determined by the TLAgay.com staff. Winners were selected by a poll of TLA customers and fans.

“We are always looking to find out which movies and books our customers enjoy best and this year’s winners gave us great insight. We received over 7,500 votes this year,” said Robert O’Neill, TLAgay.com content marketing manager.

“Jazz, like history, can never be silent,” says el Poeta (Richard Montoya), narrator of “Federal Jazz Project,” now have its world premiere at San Diego Repertory Theatre.

Sam Woodhouse directs this big, loud, raucous valentine to border towns San Diego and Tijuana, encompassing the years from 1939 on. It’s a collaboration between Richard Montoya (writer of the often-poetic script) and trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, composer of the original jazz score who also leads the boffo onstage band of five.

FilmOut selling “Early Bird VIP All-Access Pass” to film festival for a limited time

SAN DIEGO – FilmOut San Diego will be selling an “Early Bird VIP All-Access Pass” to the 15th annual LGBT Film Festival today through April 30.

The special price is $99, a 45% savings from individual purchases to attend all films and parties.

San Diego Gay and Lesbian News broke the news about this year’s film festival by publishing the “Ultimate guide to 2013 FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival”, including movie trailers and photos.
