Babycakes is serving up new flavors this month

SAN DIEGO -- While Babycakes is a San Diego favorite for cocktails and cupcakes year round, the holiday season is a particularly festive time at this trendy Hillcrest hot spot.

Even though Babycakes is most-known for its cupcakes, customers are encouraged to give their cookies and gingerbread treats a try. The fresh cookies are available as pecan gingerbread snaps, spiced glazed cranberry, pumpkin chocolate chip, and gingerbread boys and girls.

FRIDAY: "A Very Babette Christmas!" to put Urban Mo's in holiday spirit

SAN DIEGO – The legendary drag entertainer Babette Schwartz will take Urban Mo’s Bar & Grill by storm for a special two-night performance of her show, "A Very Babette Christmas!"

During the show, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, and again on Friday, Dec. 23, Babette will spread Christmas cheer with her own unique brand of camp, humor and performance.

Urban Mo’s says that audience members should get ready to be “shot in the face with some Christmas cheer” at this “very festive HO-liday engagement.”

FRIDAY: Servicemembers United to sponsor toy drive at Eden's Toy Shop party

SAN DIEGO -- In the spirit of the holiday season, SDPIX and Servicemembers United (SU) tonight will present a special event called Toy Shop at Eden nightclub.

The evening party will include music by DJ Frances, dancing, drinks, and the chance to contribute to Servicemembers United's toy drive to benefit children in need.

Another big out-of-town New Year's weekend has just been announced.

Jeffrey Sanker and Steve Manchuca are teaming up to present Desert Maneuvers, a two-day party promotion in Palm Springs at the Riviera Hotel.

Friday, Dec. 30, will be a "Black Out - Glow in the Dark Party" with DJ Josh Peace, and Saturday, Dec. 31, will be a "New Year's Eve Military Party" with DJ Manny Lehman.

Rich's to be transformed into a winter wonderland at SDPIX Winter White party Saturday

SAN DIEGO – While San Diego may not be as cold as other places in the world, the recent chill in the air has made this late fall season feel quite wintery. To celebrate the approaching winter, Rich’s and SDPIX will present the “Winter White Party” on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The populcar Hillcrest nightclub will be transformed into a winter wonderland at this magical party. Guests are encouraged to come decked out in white attire (or body makeup) to take part in the theme.

Celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz to launch "Pretty Masculine" in San Diego on Saturday

SAN DIEGO – Celebrity photographer, TV personality, former model, actor and director Mike Ruiz will be in town Saturday to continue the launch of his new book, “Pretty Masculine.”

Ruiz, who is well-known for his appearance on Logo’s "The A-List: New York," will sign copies of his book at a special reception at RUFSKIN in North Park, followed by another appearance at Numbers nightclub.

“Pretty Masculine” is a collection of Ruiz’ photography work, featuring “devastatingly beautiful male imagery."

Bourbon Street is back! University Heights bar and restaurant to resume popular nightlife events tonight

SAN DIEGO – After a brief entertainment hiatus, Bourbon Street Bar & Grill will resume its music, dancing and special-events lineup on Thursday, Dec. 1.

The popular bar and restaurant has long been a place for San Diego’s LGBT community to come together, eat, drink, celebrate and oftentimes attend events that support charities. The bar plans to kick off the month with a big lineup of special events, including the return of customer favorites such as Karaoke Tuesdays, WET Thursdays, the Dreamgirls Revue on Saturdays and the Sunday women’s night.
