EVENT UPDATE: Social Press

SOCIAL PRESS is Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at the W Hotel in downtown San Diego.

That's Thanksgiving Eve, which has firmly solidified its place in history as one of the biggest party nights of the year. The day AFTER Thanksgiving may be Black Friday, but party hardy girls and swirls know that the night BEFORE Thanksgiving has long served as Wild Wednesday.

FlawLes hosts the Preppy Halloween Party

SAN DIEGO, Calif.: FlawLes, San Diego’s Lifestyle and Entertainment Media movement, will host a Halloween party on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at El Camino cantina and cocktail house in Little Italy.

In order to support its dear friend in the community, Charissa “Chazzy” Kolich, in her battle against brain cancer, the theme of the party will salute her exceptional style while making a statement on the traditional night of fright:

Cancer is scary enough! Stay cool at Chazzy’s preppy party and help slay the real monster!

Las Vegas Gay Travelers Wynn at the Encore

Two weeks ago I spent four days in Las Vegas with the Gay Travel team. Our crew was sprinkled in different hotels around the City of Sin and fortuitously, I was positioned at the enchanting Wynn Encore.

Two San Diegans are Gay Travel Guru hopefuls

SAN DIEGO -- In April of 2010, following the launch of its new website, gaytravel.com announced the search for its first Gay Travel Guru -- a travel enthusiast to city-hop, mingle, and report on the hottest gay destinations in North America.

This Tuesday, after months of talent testing, gaytravel.com will announce their choice for the inaugural Gay Travel Guru of North America.

FlawLes Turns Three

This summer, Team FlawLes blew out the candles to celebrate another milestone of success -- the third year of continued growth and high standards.

What started out as the dream of two women in San Diego has grown into a paradigm movement for what lesbians and queer identified individuals can expect around the world.

New Queer Happy Hour: Sundays at El Camino

Ever since Universal Hillcrest unpredictably locked its doors on January 1, 2010, the San Diego lesbian and queer community has been reeling to fill a void. When the nightclub went under, it took with it Thirsty Thursdays -- the weekly happy hour produced and created by FlawLes Lesbian Lifestyle and Entertainment Media. The lively but laid-back fete around the fire pits on University Avenue in Hillcrest was unanimously lauded for its eclectic and inclusive rendering of the city’s LGBT community.

Movie Review: Is 'Inception' a dream come true?

There’s a lot of film-geek butter gushing over director Christopher Nolan’s fresh-popped summer movie, Inception. I went to a matinee this week, not because I’m a big fan of Nolan’s previous works (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Memento) and not because I’m even remotely interested in heist, sci-fi, espionage thrillers (I’ve never even seen The Matrix). To be clear, I was unilaterally in attendance to see my foxy silver screen sweetheart, Ellen Page, in action.
