FlawLes TV: Where It All Began

Check out the episode that started the craze. In February of 2009, Jess and Mary B. sat down to record their first episode of the web series that would become FlawLes TV. Since then, their vlogs have achieved cult following status and their videos are featured on One More Lesbian Media (OML.com). Since vintage is all the craze, we thought we'd throw it back, old skool on the one year anniversary of Jess, Mary B. and FlawLesTV.

Behold, FlawLes- Episode 1

Meet SWEET's Skipper

To begin, combine parties and live entertainment with volunteering and a personal wellness staff. Begin creating the feeling of awareness in the world and self esteem at the same time. End with the satisfaction of knowing that the lesbian name is out in the world for doing something inspiring and knowing you could easily become a part of it.

Doesn’t that sound SWEET?

FlawLes Presents The 2nd Annual Tie Party

On Saturday, Jan 23, 2010 FlawLes, San Diego’s Lesbian Lifestyle and Entertainment Media movement, will be hosting its marquee experience: The Tie Party. This year’s event will be held at The W Hotel in downtown San Diego.

In an expression of a community tied together for equality, bound by their efforts in pursuit of equal rights, FlawLes presents this celebration to benefit Equality California -- the state's chief LGBT civil rights and advocacy organization.

Need more resolve to accomplish your resolutions?

Do you diligently follow through on your New Year's Resolutions? If you are like many people, you probably find some challenges in this area. Most people stick to their resolutions for 30 days or less.

Frustration, disappointment and feelings of failure lead to avoidance and resignation to old patterns. Given that most New Year's Resolutions are unsuccessfully recycled year after year, it raises the question: How do you create lasting change?

Equality Makes Sense...And Dollars

Marriage equality springs forward. April was a banner month for marriage equality with wins in the courts in Iowa, the Senate in Vermont, and announcements from the officials of the District of Columbia that all marriages performed in other states, regardless of the sexual orientation of the individuals involved, will be recognized in the nation’s capitol. Finally, LGBT people can work in D.C. and don’t have to choose between helping their country and protecting their families (a conundrum still faced by LGBT servicemembers in the U.S. Military).

Work from Home – In Style!

With many women choosing to launch their own home-based businesses and take the reins of their employment futures firmly in their own hands, home offices are quickly becoming both a necessity and a refuge.

Mascu-Feminine Matters Don't Matter

"The search into the unconscious involves confronting the shadow, man’s hidden nature; the anima/animus, a hidden opposite gender in each individual; and beyond, the archetype of meaning.” – from Abstracts of the Collected Works of C.G. Jung

What’s your gender? What vibrations do you engender? What mascu-feminine or femi-masculine costumes might you be rocking these days? (Why) Does this really even matter?

Diversionary Theater

While Diversionary Theatre put the moniker Camp, Comedy, Classic on the cover of its 2008-2009 season brochure, dig a bit deeper and find existentialism, shtick, and sassy in three of the season’s offerings which feature intriguing lesbian characters. Founded in 1986, Diversionary is the nation’s third oldest continuously producing LGBT theatre. Five of the six mainstage shows this season feature lesbian characters, and FlawLes will have a group night at all six productions during the year.

This Is Who I Am

The modern day lesbian is someone who is going out and creating themselves. Growing up, I remember the stereotypes of lesbians and certain career paths they felt they had to follow. Now, I feel the lesbian community has found themselves, and is reaching outside the box to be who they really want to be, creating their own sense of identity within the community. As a Dj, I have definitely created my own sense of identity within this community by following my passion for music. And I feel lucky to have a place here, to empower and inspire so many people through music.
