Born and raised in New York City, iO Tillet-Wright is a young artist on an ambitious quest to make a photographic record of LGBTQ America today.

"My aim is to take a simple portrait of anyone who is anything other than 100 percent straight or feels like they fall on the LGBTQ spectrum in any way," says Tillet-Wright. "My goal is to show the humanity that exists in every one of us through the simplicity of a face."

FlawLes Media and Events, the San Diego-based business striving to increase equality as a corollary to their mission of increasing the visibility of the LGBT community has established a business partnership with Curve, the nation's best-selling lesbian magazine, in their 20th anniversary year of circulation.

After a seven months hiatus, Bitter Sober is back in action and -- lucky for you -- they're playing a conveniently delicious show at Rich's (REPENT Thursday Ladies Night) for the first time ever.

On May 26, Sherry Soto, Beth Ladwig, Amanda, and Megan Jane will introduce new band member Jaime Hunt (of 607Lesbian Productions) on the keys. The show is a taste of what's to come as the fivesome gear up for their 2011 Summer Tour with shows in Fresno, Calif., Denver, Colo., Kansas City, and Lincoln, Neb., already confirmed.

Growing up in the 90s, many of my best friends were among the first wave of children left to the co-misery of throbbing pop music, and classic tomes penned by dark, affected artists all because their parents' divorce left them cynical and disenchanted by age 14. I watched as my friends' understanding of stability and expectations of relationships were extracted from their realm of existence like a tonsil. They were latch-key kids, kids who were left to deal with the unfair shuffling and apathy that engulfs an adolescent forced to take a backseat to dad's diva girlfriend, or mom's new baby.
