New Horoscope Horror: The Age of Aquarius ...Errr, Capricorn

The big news story this week that continues to take status reports and intrawebs by storm is that the zodiac sign you once knew and loved, is perhaps, not your celestial personality after all. [Gasp.]

The Minneapolis Star Tribune first reported that astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found the moon's gravitational pull on Earth has caused the alignment of the stars to be pushed by about a month.

It's the Word of the Year (But what does it mean?)

New Oxford American Dictionary’s word of the year is refudiate -- which does not come up in my MacBook’s spotlight dictionary and is underlined in red as I type this in a Word.doc. But it is a word-- albeit obscure -- as made famous [infamous?] by Sarah Palin’s Twitter feed.

We once had refute and repudiate. Now we add refudiate to the mix.

Commence command: Ignore All.

The Ultimate: Margarita

It's a humble concoction of ingredients: good tequila, a squeeze of fresh lime, orange bitters (Cointreau conceivably), and perhaps a course saline adornment.

It should all be so simple. But you have to make it hard.

San Diego siren now on iTunes: Tori

"It feels so cosmopolitan!" artist, Tori, exclaimed in a text message the day her debut album To the Moon finally landed on iTunes.

Tegan and Sara stage an Intervention for Margaret Cho

This date in history marks the premiere of the perfecta trifecta video offspring of the Margaret Cho + Tegan and Sara collaboration.

Tegan and Sara are currently on an autumn India-New Zealand-Australia mega tour. December sees them opening up the stage for Jack Johnson in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Mary B.'s Gay Preppy Yuletide Gift Guide

Baby, it’s cold outside and that means it's time for scarves, pea coats, cardigans and cocktails -- the stuff preppy queers live for! Plaid, tartan, tweed, Shetland wool, corduroy and cotton cashmere blends -- this season is right in our wheelhouse, so if you’re dating us, you’ve got lots to choose from when it comes to trimming our tree.

Stocking Stuffer: Lesbian Twins and Chipmunk Triplets

What do you get that lesbian on your Christmas list who has everything -- including a multiple birth scenario? I thought you'd never ask.

Fresh on the shelves is the 21-track compilation album, Gift Wrapped, Vol. II: Snowed In which features Tegan and Sara in their highest-pitced, womb-sharing glory.

Will Portia de Rossi be the First to Dance with a Same-Sex Star?

The De Rossi-DeGeneres house has long been an agent for positive change. While Ellen (A.K.A. The Lesbian Messiah) has long shouldered the spotlight, Portia has been shining her light especially bright and beautiful of late.

The buzz on the street this week was that Dancing With the Stars producers are scouting our favorite sheila for their very first dip into same-sex couple competitors.

If you're a gay man reading this and wondering what you're doing in the FlawLes Lesbian Life and Scene section, you might be thinking that a misguided interweb led you astray. But fear not, my hairy man-friend, you're in the right place. Just watch the video and thank me, your friendly queer benefactor, later.

Break-Ups: Just As Effective As The Master Cleanse!

Maybe there is something seasonal about break-ups. Perhaps there is even research to support the idea that the Fall, with its harvest moon and scarlet hilltops, inspires people to seek out the unique purgative relief offered exclusively through extinguishing a relationship that has run its course.

Whatever the reason, the volume of letters in the mailbag about how to get through break-ups seems at an all-time high. College students are writing in with woeful first semester scenarios of fading feelings, and friends in my personal life, too, are struggling with waning affairs.
