It's Spring - the sun is shining (most of the time ...) and the last place you want to be is in a gym -- right?
That's what I thought.
Still ... you want to look good in your new summer wardrobe -- right?
So don't give up on your cardio workouts, just to stay out of the gym. Take your workout outdoors with you.
This workout uses only your body weight and gets you moving in a way that burns off fat nine times faster than just going for a walk.
It's a high-intensity interval workout, otherwise known as HIIT.
Don't be intimidated by the name, all it means is that you are going to work out at two different intensity levels.
You are going to rotate short bursts of high intensity effort with easier, more moderate efforts. The point is to use the moderate effort time as an active recovery period to give yourself the energy to do the high intensity bursts, but keep your body moving at the same time.
Sarah, a Bootique Fitness personal trainer, will show you how to do this kind of workout in the video below.
To make it simple to time your intervals, use a Gymboss interval timer.
Before you begin any intense workout, always warm up first and then cool down and stretch when you're done, to prevent injuries.
