Out At The Park May 19!
Once again, AFCSL is partnering with three other great local LGBT organizations, San Diego Pride, the SDAFFL and SD Hoops to bring you the 2012 Out At The Park, a night of baseball under the stars at the beautiful PETCO Park.
The game is Saturday, May 19 and first pitch will be around 7:05 p.m. against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, featuring 3-time National League MVP Albert Pujols.
There will be a pre-game “tailgate” party at Hotel Solamar, just steps away from the ballpark.
This AFCSL-exclusive party is a chance for us ballplayers and friends/family to get together and socialize before the big game. Food and drink specials will be offered by the hotel at great prices.
So come get your eat and drink on with your fellow ball players before heading to the Park!
Come to the Hotel Solamar Terrace, located on the 4th floor and accessible via the Jsix Restaurant elevator. The address is 435 6th Ave in downtown or check out their websites, here for more info: Hotel Solamar or Jsix.
Tickets for the game are $15.
If you're interested in attending, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for tickets! They're going fast, so don't wait!
Hall of Fame (HOF) Nominations
There is less than two weeks left to nominate members for the AFCSL Hall of Fame.
The Class of 2012 will be inducted in late June, but we need you to nominate them.
Here's a quick glance at the criteria:
Who do you look up to? Who has helped make this league better? Who helped you get better? We want to know! Only the top 5 vote getters are accepted into the AFCSL Hall of Fame each year, so it's quite an honor.
Nominating someone is easy. Simply email email@example.com to get a nomination form emailed back to you.
Fill it out and either email it back, or print it out and give it to any board member you see at the fields. Nominations will close in May, so be sure to get your nominations in soon.
The inaugural 2011 AFCSL Hall of Fame class includes:
Tom Abbas, George Biagi*, Rich Riccio*, Stacey Hayashi, and Carol Byers
* Indicates North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance NAGAAA Hall of Fame inductee
