SAN DIEGO -- A pair of robberies were reported on the west side of Hillcrest over the weekend.
According to U-T San Diego, the 76 gas station on Sixth Avenue at Robinson Street was robbed around 4:45 pm Friday, Jan. 6. The thief, who was wearing a yellow hat, a white shirt and dark pants, ran away with cash.
10 News reported that Cathedral Candle Shop on University Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Avenues was robbed the next day, on Saturday, Jan. 7, around 7:20 pm.
The man simulated having a gun, and demanded cash from an employee. The robber of Cathedral was reported to be a black man who was between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 4 inches tall. He is said to be bald with a mustache and goatee.
It is unknown if the two incidents are connected.
