Same-sex couples sue to marry in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two same-sex couples seeking the freedom to marry today filed a lawsuit in Albuquerque’s district court after they applied for and were denied marriage licenses by the Bernalillo County Clerk.

The lawsuit claims that the New Mexico marriage statutes and New Mexico Constitution do not bar same-sex couples from marrying, and therefore the State of New Mexico should issue civil marriage licenses to any same-sex couple who applies for one.

U.S. Supreme Court to release same-day audio recordings of marriage cases

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court said Tuesday it will release audio recordings of next week’s arguments in two same-sex marriage cases just a few hours after they conclude.

The court will post audio files and transcripts on its website roughly two hours after the end of the proceedings on March 26 and March 27.

SEATTLE -- A Seattle couple surprised friends at their recent going away party with news of their wedding. But the couple got a nasty surprise Sunday as they prepared to leave town when their moving truck was stolen.

Newly married Jason Jones and Ambrose Romero packed up their Capitol Hill apartment to move closer to family in California.

"The truck had everything, our whole house, our whole life," Jones said.

They walked outside Sunday to find the moving truck missing.
