THURSDAY: San Diego Democrats for Equality meeting to focus on local school board races

SAN DIEGO -- Local school district races will be the focus of the next San Diego Democrats for Equality meeting, to be held Thursday, March 22, at 6:30 pm.

The organization will consider endorsements in several seats that are up for grabs in the upcoming election, including the San Diego County Board of Education Districts 1 and 2 seat; the San Diego Community College Board Districts B and D; and San Diego Unified School District Board Sub-Districts A, D and E.

Founded in 1975 as the San Diego Democratic Club, the San Diego Democrats for Equality work to to secure equal human rights for the LGBT community; to foster the ideals of the Democratic Party; and to contribute to the growth and influence of the political party.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but voting for endorsements is limited to the club's membership.

The meeting will take place at the Joyce Beers Uptown Community Center, 3900 Vermont Ave. Unlimited parking is available in the underground parking lot.
