SAN DIEGO -- San Diego LGBT Pride will host a meet and greet for community members interested in learning more about being on the organization's board of directors. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 13 from 6-8 pm at Gossip Grill.

The board of directors holds the overall fiduciary responsibility for the organization which produces the annual San Diego LGBT Pride Parade, Festival, and other activities. The full board meets monthly, with some other responsibilities year round.

Those selected for a seat on the board of directors will first go through a candidacy period for several months, and if successful, will become a voting member of the board.

Several current board members will be on hand at the Sept. 13 mixer to answer questions and meet prospective candidates.
