SAN FRANCISCO — More than 1,500 people honored seven heroes in the movement for LGBT equality on Saturday night at the National Center for Lesbian Rights’ 35th anniversary celebration.

The sell-out event — held at the City View at Metreon — is often called the party of the year, celebrating the strides made in the LGBT movement and recognizing the trailblazers who have stood up for equality, becoming role models for millions of people in the process.

SAN DIEGO – As San Diegans gear up for the upcoming primary election on June 5, all eyes seem to be on the mayoral race, city council races, and hot button propositions.

There are, however, a number of other important races that will appear on the ballot, including three Superior Court Judge seats.

One such candidate is Jim Miller, who is vying for San Diego Superior Court Seat 25.

Miller, who is currently appointed as a Judge Pro Tem, is also a County Hearing Officer, and has trial experience as an attorney in criminal, civil, family, federal and state law.

It’s OK to “beat the gay” out of children, says North Carolina Baptist preacher Sean Harris.

Harris, the Senior Pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, N.C., is heard in this audio clip telling his congregation that should their children show any signs of “homosexual” behavior, then it is their responsibility to use violence as a corrective measure to prevent that child from being gay or lesbian.

TAMPA, Fla. -- A bishop from Sierra Leone preached that the love of God binds us together much stronger than divisions of race, sexual orientation, or even family affiliation.

Bishop John Yambasu, Resident United Methodist Bishop to Sierra Leone, spoke at the Africana Dinner at the United Methodist Church General Conference on Sunday evening. The dinner was sponsored by Black Methodists for Church Renewal, a coalition partner with the Love Your Neighbor Campaign.
