Shooting down a myth: "Gays make more money than non-gays"

Mary Menefee took to my Facebook page to express her displeasure with my focus on the income inequality and insecurity faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) American families. She leaned on the two favorite “truths” of those against marriage equality.

The Real e-State: Use your Realtor even if you aren't buying and selling

The way I view it, my job as a Realtor isn’t just to list and sell your property or to just search for and help you purchase a property.

I stay in communication with my clients. There are a lot of decisions along the way that lead up to what your property is worth when you sell or even when you refinance.

A few months back, I had some clients (who we shall call Tom and Phil) ask me to run the comparables (or comps) on their property. They weren’t sure if they wanted to sell or refinance, and it would be tough, because like many others their, home had lost value in recent years.

Black church takes chance, reaches out to LGBT teens

BOSTON -- Eziah Karter-Sabir Blake swiped the play debit card through a plastic reader during a game of Monopoly recently. Another multimillion-dollar sale. The buyer, Giftson Joseph, rubbed his hands together, a glimmer creeping in his eyes as he playfully nudged the Rev. Catharine A. Cummings.

The three - one gay, one transgender, one straight - sat around a table at a new youth drop-in center at Union United Methodist Church, a historically black congregation in the South End, the heart of Boston’s gay community.
