SAN DIEGO -- Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to join its staff. The position assists in the development and promotion of innovative health marketing campaigns targeting various populations, such as the LGBT community.

Qualified candidates will have a background in marketing, public relations, or communications; have strong interpersonal skills; and have strong verbal and written skills. Those bilingual in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.

SAN DIEGO -- In honor of LGBT History Month, which is observed each year in October, Imig's Kitchen Bar, located within The Lafayette Hotel, will host a special happy hour on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 pm.

Guests at the event will be able to enjoy specialty cocktails named after LGBT icons, as well as complimentary hors d'oeuvres and half-off bottles of wine throughout the event. Short bios of the 31 icons honored this month will be displayed in the venue for attendees to read and learn about.

SAN DIEGO – With the closure of popular Hillcrest restaurants including Ono Sushi and Sushi Itto, many sushi lovers felt a void in the neighborhood. Akinori Sushi, a full service sushi bar and restaurant, has been in business just over three months and hopes to fill that void with its high quality fish, daily specials and friendly staffers.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- A traveling exhibit of alternative sexuality materials dating to the 1700s will be on display at this year's annual Palm Springs LGBT Pride celebration, to be held Nov. 3-4.

A portion of the Carter-Johnson Leather Library will be a part of the "Fetish in the Outfield" leather area within the Palm Springs Pride Festival, and include items such as artwork, books, DVDs, magazines, newsletters, newspapers, pamphlets, photographs, club and event pins, posters and other materials.
