There is a dance to digital dating. It takes some time to figure out how it all works and the tempo required to move from emailing a profile match to walking into a first date.

Email

I encourage clients to make the first move online. If you’re interested, send a friendly and concise email that does the following:

• Acknowledges something that resonated with you in their profile

COMMENTARY: Grace, gratitude and my big, gay Thanksgiving prayer

Editor's note: This commentary was originally published Wednesday on the The Bilerico Project website and is being republished here with exclusive permission from the author.

One of the occupational hazards of ordained ministry is that every Thanksgiving dinner you attend for the rest of your life will result in you being asked to pray. I don't mind that. I went to school for this stuff. One of the gifts of seminary is the ability to bust out into prayer at the drop of the hat.

GaySurfers.net: Navigating global change in homophobic waters

AUSTRALIA -- Thomas C. (he does not use his full last name) has been a surfer for most of his life and has traveled the world with his surfboard, but always found it difficult to meet other gay surfers. What he did find, more often than not, were like-minded surfers who generally always hid their sexuality.

He knew there were plenty of other gay surfers in the world that didn't merely fit the standard "macho" stereotype of the global surfing community. He also knew there was a need to share surf tales outside of the traditional online gay "hook-up" sites.

Should little boys compete in pageants?

Most people think of little girls when they think of pageants, but "The Joy Behar Show" looks at the growing popularity among boys.

Tracy Miller and her 6-year-old son Zander, who is "pageant king" and began competing when he was only 18 months old, share their experiences with Behar.

"I like to do my thing," Zander said. "And win crowns, trophies and sashes."

Clinical psychologist Laura Markham provides a counterpoint and Behar asks serious questions about the effect of the pageants on Zander.
