AIDS Assistance Program gets $100,000 grant

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -- AIDS Assistance Program (AAP) has received a matching $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo Foundation in support of its annual “Angel Program” fundraising drive.

Tim Hanlon, President of Wells Fargo Foundation, gave the good news to AAP CEO Mark Anton, who says the funds will be used to support the organization’s food voucher program, which helps feed more than 500 people per month.

Former Weather Girls diva Martha Wash to headline Disco Tea Dance benefit

PALM SPRINGS – Disco diva Martha Wash of Weather Girls fame will perform at a retro-inspired Disco Tea Dance on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 10 pm poolside at the Saguaro Hotel, 1800 E. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.

DJ Jerry Bonham of San Francisco’s annual “Remember the Party” will be spinning classic and iconic disco hits. The event is a benefit for AIDS Assistance Program.

AIDS Assistance Program gets $15,000 grant from The Auen Foundation

PALM SPRINGS – AIDS Assistance Program (AAP) has been awarded a $15,000 grant from The Auen Foundation.

To date, the Foundation has awarded more than 800 grants to charitable and educational programs and services, primarily in the Coachella Valley.

AIDS Assistance Program, Walgreens give out holiday stockings to those in need

PALM SPRINGS – AIDS Assistance Program (AAP), an essential community-service organization that provides much-needed food to men, women and their dependent children living with HIV/AIDS in the greater Palm Springs area, has joined forces with Walgreens Pharmacy to provide Christmas stockings filled with toiletries and personal care items to clients who currently receive assistance from AAP.

The distribution took place today at 9 am at the AAP office in Palm Springs. In addition to the stockings, each client received a roasting chicken courtesy of AAP.
