SAN DIEGO -- More than 100 restaurants, bars, and coffeehouses are participating in Dining Out For Life, an annual fundraiser in support the San Diego LGBT Community Center's HIV/AIDS services.

Participating venues pledge to donate at least 25% of the day's sales to the cause, making it very easy for diners to participate - all they have to do is show up and dine out!

This weekend, 1202 nightclub in Hillcrest is having a huge “grand opening” celebration.

On Friday, starting at 10 pm, there will be an outrageous party with DJ Schoeny, go-go boys and hotties galore.

Then on Saturday, the opening celebrations continue with DJ Dawna Montel at the turntables, along with a hosted Svedka and Jagermeister bar from 9 to 10 pm with a Facebook or Foursquare check-in.

Noon: New Year’s Eve at Fiesta Cantina

First there was Y2K, and that turned out to be no big deal. Then, in 2011 we were all supposed to be raptured (well, me at least, anyways), but that didn’t pan out either. Now it’s the Mayans’ turn. Will the third time be the charm here? I guess we’ll find out this Friday …
