Cage fighter: "Sex with men doesn’t make you gay or bisexual, just like a cigarette doesn’t make you a smoker"

Cage fighter Alex Reid has talked about his past of having sex with other men in an interview with Jeremy Kyle.

Chantelle Houghton, who is the mother of Reid’s daughter Dolly had claimed in the past that Reid “had sex with men and prostitutes” and claimed their relationship broke down because of another man.


Answering Kyle’s question “are you bisexual?” Reid said:”I … no … I don’t smoke but I have tried a cigarette.

 Experimentation is not orientation … I like women.”



Bisexual network celebrates 25 years

SAN FRANCISCO -- The world was a very different place a quarter century ago. AIDS was decimating the gay and bisexual men's community while bi women and lesbians cared for their brothers. At the same time the bi community was under attack, being scapegoated as the carriers of HIV/AIDS to the straight community.

The Bay Area Bisexual Network was launched in 1987 to combat the negative image and misconceptions about bisexual people and to create community and a movement locally.

Bisexual candidate Sinema declared winner in Arizona U.S. House race

PHOENIX -- Democrat Kyrsten Sinema on Monday was declared the winner in the election to represent Arizona's Ninth District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sinema, 36, had a narrow lead on election night that made the race too close to call, but as mail-in and absentee ballots were counted in recent days, her lead has grown to a nearly 6,000-vote advantage that is too much for Republican challenger Vernon Parker to overcome.

In California, Berkeley declares Sept. 23 as Bisexual Pride Day

BERKELEY, Calif. – The socially liberal city of Berkeley on Tuesday became the first in America to set aside a day to officially recognize bisexuals, the often forgotten “B” in LGBT.

The City Council voted unanimously to declare Sept. 23 as Bisexual Pride and Bi Visibility Day. The date is significant in the bisexual community because that’s when various bisexual pride events are held in major cities around the U.S.

NAGAAA settles suit, bisexual players vindicated

SEATTLE -- A settlement was finally reached in a case where three bisexual softball players took on the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) after their teams were disqualified from the 2008 Gay Softball World Series based on a rule in NAGAAA's bylaws.

The three plaintiffs were represented by the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) and K&L Gates, LLP in Seattle.

NAGAAA boasts over 10,000 members on its website.

Study shows bisexual women more likely to be depressed

A study published in 2009 by the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health found that 48.5 percent of lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals reported receiving mental health treatment in the past year, compared with 22.5 percent of heterosexuals. The researchers furthermore noted that lesbians and bisexual women were most likely to receive treatment, and heterosexual men were least likely.
