Jim Winsor's Out & About: Sunday Tea Dance and BBQ comes to Top of the Park this summer

Sunday fun-day just got a little funner!

Top of the Park is now having a weekly Sunday Tea Dance and BBQ with new expanded hours from 1 to 8 pm, all summer long until Labor Day.

Specials include $5 burgers and hot dogs with chips and $3 well drinks, plus high energy music by DJ Jay Brannon.

Perhaps best of all, there's no cover. What with the panoramic view of the city from up there, there's probably no nicer place to spend a sunny summer day with friends.

Pool party season is upon us, and there's no better sign of this than the first Guys Like Us (GLU) Pool Party of 2012, coming up July 14 at a private estate in Mission Hills.

These GLU parties have traditionally been some of the best and most eagerly anticipated pool parties locally. You can view photos from some of the previous events here. Fundraisers for their AIDS Walk team, the GLU has raised thousands of dollars for the cause over the years.

Bourbon Street is back! University Heights bar and restaurant to resume popular nightlife events tonight

SAN DIEGO – After a brief entertainment hiatus, Bourbon Street Bar & Grill will resume its music, dancing and special-events lineup on Thursday, Dec. 1.

The popular bar and restaurant has long been a place for San Diego’s LGBT community to come together, eat, drink, celebrate and oftentimes attend events that support charities. The bar plans to kick off the month with a big lineup of special events, including the return of customer favorites such as Karaoke Tuesdays, WET Thursdays, the Dreamgirls Revue on Saturdays and the Sunday women’s night.
