HRC: By insulting same-sex parents, NOM hits new low

WASHINGTON – Brian Brown, president of the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage, hit a new low Wednesday, responding to the passage of a marriage equality bill in the Rhode Island state Senate by proclaiming:

"It's bad enough when families break down through divorce or death, but it's unconscionable when a state encourages this through policies that deprive children of the love of both a mother and a father. This is a very sad day for Rhode Island."

NOM president Brian Brown touts honorary degree – from non-existent university

WASHINGTON – National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown is touting an honorary degree he’s received from a non-existent university, the Human Rights Campaign says.

On Monday, Brown – fresh off a jaunt to Paris in an attempt to take NOM’s anti-LGBT message abroad - tweeted that he was “honored to receive honorary doctorate this weekend in Memphis from American Urban U. & Church of God in Christ!” Brown also tweeted a picture of himself receiving the “honorary degree.”
