GLAAD's What To Watch on Tuesday

Chaz Bono, transgender advocate and "Dancing with the Stars" contender, returns to TV tonight with an appearance on “Tonight, Tonight pt 2,” the conclusion to the "Degrassi" season 12 finale. Bono will play himself as a surprise celebrity judge for a Battle of the Bands contest at the Degrassi Community School.

Straight ally upsets Rep. Mary Bono Mack in Palm Springs area

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – LGBT voters in droves helped elect Dr. Raul Ruiz to an upset victory over U.S. Rep. Mary Bono Mack on Tuesday, according to unofficial results.

Ruiz, who campaigned as a straight ally of the LGBT community, ousted Bono Mack, who is the stepmother of transgender activist Chaz Bono.

Bono Mack, who was a seven-term U.S. representative and a Republican, had a checkered voting record on LGBT rights and represented an area where the LGBT community is growing and showing its political clout.

LGBT celebrities tout Obama's achievements for gay community

Some of America's most visible LGBT celebrities are speaking out in a new campaign video in support of President Barack Obama's re-election efforts.

Jane Lynch ("Glee"), Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family"), Zachary Quinto ("American Horror Story"), George Takei ("Star Trek"), Chaz Bono, comic Wanda Sykes and tennis great Billie Jean King appear in the video titled "Obama Pride: LGBT Americans for Obama."

Chaz Bono and his fiancée, Jennifer Elia, have called off their engagement and "are no longer a couple" ... a rep for Bono tells TMZ.

Bono's rep, Howard Bragman, tells TMZ, "They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time."

Bono's proposal to Elia was seen last month on the show, "Being Chaz."

The couple had been dating since 1999.

Chaz Bono's cha-cha does not disappoint judges or fans in DWTS premiere

LOS ANGELES -- Chaz Bono made history last night, becoming the first transgender person to dance on ABC's smash hit, Dancing With the Stars.

Bono, who was the recent subject of "Becoming Chaz," a documentary that focused on his transition from female to male and premiered on the Oprah Winfrey Network this past Spring, danced the "Cha-cha" with his professional dancing partner, Lacey Schwimmer in the two hour premiere of Dancing With the Stars, Monday, September 19, 2011.

SAN DIEGO – Almost half of readers of San Diego Gay & Lesbian News who took our poll say that they will be watching “Dancing With The Stars” this fall to see transgender celebrity Chaz Bono.

Our poll question was: Will you watch "Dancing With The Stars" this fall because of Chaz Bono?

The results, which are not scientific, reveal that 47% of readers say that they will be watching “DWTS” because of Chaz, 39% said they would not be watching the show because of Chaz, and 13% said they were already fans of the dance competition.
