Chance the dog, treated for bullet wound, is released from hospital

SAN DIEGO -- A dog who was found on the Viejas Indian Reservation with a bullet wound earlier this week was released from the hospital Friday morning and is continuing to recover at the County Animal Services shelter.

The retriever-mix named "Chance" was found Monday on Viejas Grade Road by a woman who spotted the animal from her car. A single bullet had been fired through his torso. County Animal Services officers rushed the dog to the VCA emergency animal hospital in Mission Valley with an unknown prognosis.

"Incense Bandit" wanted in commercial robbery series

SAN DIEGO -- Fifth Avenue Books, along with Crime Stoppers, is offering a total cash reward of $3,000 for information leading to the capture of the man police dub “the incense bandit.”

Over three months, the incense bandit robbed at least four businesses in North Park and Hillcrest.

A press release by San Diego Police outlined details of two of those robberies.
