San Diego Pride expands its diversity efforts

SAN DIEGO – To take its long-standing commitment to diversity a step further, San Diego LGBT Pride recently created a Diversity Task Force to work on a number of initiatives to ensure that all communities are truly represented within the organization.

Stedman Graham to discuss diversity and leadership at SDSU

SAN DIEGO -- New York Times best-selling author Stedman Graham will bring his Nine-Step Success Process to San Diego State University on Tuesday, April 10.

Hosted by SDSU’s College of Business Administration, the lecture takes place at noon in the SDSU Library Donor Hall Study Room and is followed by a book signing.

The rainbow flag, the very the symbol of gay pride, represents both our aspirations and the diversity of our population. Yet the top of the gay community’s rainbow — the leadership tier of LGBT non-profit organizations — is more awash in white than any other color.

NLGJA joins UNITY journalists' alliance

McLEAN, Va. -- UNITY: Journalists of Color will now include the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA), after the boards of directors of both organizations agreed to the partnership last week.

NLGJA’s mission to advance the interests of LGBT journalists is consistent with UNITY's mission of ensuring that American newsrooms, and consequently news coverage, reflects the diversity of our communities.

SDSU engages the campus community with "Pledge Diversity" program

SAN DIEGO -- As the San Diego State University (SDSU) community celebrates men's basketball victories and continues its search for university President Stephen Weber's replacement, the campus Office of Diversity has started a campaign intended to foster an environment that supports, appreciates and respects diversity.

"Pledge Diversity" is a diversity and inclusion series, created by the school's Office of the President and Associated Students (AS), that calls upon the campus community to action in their commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive campus.
