UPDATED BREAKING NEWS: Ninth Circuit deals another blow to Prop 8

SAN FRANCISCO – Dealing yet another blow to California’s Proposition 8, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today declined a request for an en banc hearing by a larger panel of judges.

At least one of 25 judges on the appeals court agreed to the en banc hearing, which requires a majority vote. Read the full filing HERE.

Minnesota school district warned to repeal discriminatory gag policy, address anti-gay harassment

SAN FRANCISCO – Two human rights groups sent a letter today to Minnesota’s Anoka-Hennepin School District demanding that district officials immediately repeal the gag policy that prevents teachers from discussing LGBT issues, and address the bullying and harassment of LGBT students.

The National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) and Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) sent the warning letter.
