The backers of a flawed, but widely cited academic study critical of gay relationships and their impact on children of gay parents, choreographed its release in time to influence “major decisions of the Supreme Court,” according to documents obtained by The American Independent.

Tribal chairman Dexter McNamara could veto the measure, which would then require a 7-2 vote to overrule the veto.

If the measure gets final approval, the tribe would join the Coquille tribe in Oregon and the Suquamish tribe in Washington state to allow same-sex marriage on their reservations.
