Fashionably Out: Anne Hathaway’s fashion dream

If you’ve been following any of my Social Media, you probably know that my love for Anne Hathaway is an everlasting kind of love. Only the most tender, unconditional, and yes, quite overly obsessive.

It’s a kind of affection that can break friendships if one were to ever dare speak foolishly of her in front of your fashion guru. So before we see some Catwoman moves around here, let’s highlight the things that make this world go around in sweet harmony, shall we?

Fashionably Out: Meet me at the Met, via cyberspace

It’s always nice when you have an excuse to turn down someone because you “already have plans” somewhere else. There is something glamorous about feeling that you’re wanted at more than one place, yet you have the ultimate decision as to who to bless with your impeccable presence.

Fashionably Out: Great Gatsby! Roaring your way through life!

If there is an era that your social influencer would love to have lived in, the Roaring Twenties would fit just right! That’s when the economy took an extraordinary increase in profit and everyone (well, mostly everyone) embellished themselves in extravagant dress wear and threw glamorous parties simply because they could.

Oh, what a fancy time in life that must have been! Men in tailored tuxedos and women in sleek fringe dresses adorned with bejeweled headbands and bobbed hair … SO MAJOR!!

Fashionably Out: Bringing “skinny” back to ties

You know those pair of jeans you’ve held on to for quite a while now because you keep telling yourself you’ll fit back into them soon? Well, darling, my advice to you is to keep telling yourself that until you gain that motivation and fit back into them!

In the meantime, there are a couple of other things in your closet you’ve kept aside simply because they’re cute or bring back nice memories - but don’t seem to fit into your personal style anymore.

Fashionably Out: Playtime at your favorite fashion store

There’s a scene in “Evita” where Eva Peron decides she has had about enough with people spreading false rumors about her, and consults to her personal team for a glamorous makeover.

During this musical number, “Rainbow High,” Evita sings about the new woman she wants to embody and portray to Argentinians.

One of her operative lines from that song, “so Christian Dior me, from my head to my toes,” is clearly proclaiming that this woman means business - and knows her fashion houses very well.

Fashionably Out: Go “Zoe” yourself

We all allow different things to come out of our mouths, whether it be in private or out in public. Sometimes people blurt things out without understanding the meaning of them. And honestly, that’s pretty embarrassing. And not very chic.

Think about some of the words you use to describe certain situations, people, or even someone’s choice of style. There are many words out there, but only a couple that will truly make an impact - and want to make people add them to their daily vocabulary!

Maxwell's Billet Doux: Friend or foe?

Billet-Doux: n. (bĭl'ā dōō, or "billa doo") A love letter. (literally "sweet letter" in French)

So, you have your friends and then you have the people who you think are your friends. Those people are called “frienamies.”

Urban dictionary defines a frienemy as someone who pretends to be your friend but really isn't, as in they turn on you.

Let’s face it, we have all been faced with fake friends. Hell, I'll be the first to admit I have been one. I committed the biggest sin of all in a friendship.I slept with my so-called best friend’s man. And not just once.

Fashionably Out: My little Chanel jacket

We all have that one expensive item we wish to one day own before we sashay away from this glamorous world.

For some people, a pair of Prada shoes to wear in their Sunday’s best. For others, a couple of Hermes bangles for some luxurious arm candy. And though we may not have enough numbers in our bank accounts to splurge on these needs, we can still cross over and make our fantasy a reality.

I know I did.

Ever since the fashion gods cast their blessing upon me, I became obsessed over Chanel’s little black jacket.

Fashionably Out: Fierce women who know style

Darlings, les be honest here. For so long, women have had the pleasure of having more variety in the fashion department than men: from gowns to skirts to glitter to silk to glass slippers.

Unfortunately, some women don’t play with variety. Some women choose to look rather … boring. And that makes some gays mad.

To cure this catastrophe, we will be looking at four women who probably don’t need a gay friend to help them dress.

Fashionably Out: Fierce men who know style

Boys, allow me to introduce you to a group of guys who should be in your fashion book for inspiration … and lust.

Matt Bomer

It doesn’t hurt that he has piercing blue eyes and a cutting jaw line, but this actor genuinely understands the rules of a sartorial gentleman. Like something pulled out of a GQ magazine, this dapper dons the American preppy look in dark and pinstriped suits, plaid collared shirts and leather jackets.
