SAN DIEGO -- Jonathan Lisecki made a name for himself on the festival circuit with his award-winning short films "Woman In Burka" (2008) and "Gayby" (2010). This year, he has a bona fide hit on his hands with a full-length version of "Gayby," which he produced, wrote, directed and acted in.

David Gonzalez, Jeff Howell elected to FilmOut San Diego board

SAN DIEGO -- David Gonzalez and Jeff Howell were elected to the board of directors of FilmOut San Diego on Tuesday night.

Gonzalez, who returns to the FilmOut board, is a senior promotions producer for KGTV Channel 10 in San Diego. He holds a degree in political science from Occidental College.

“Excited to be back! Looking forward to a rocking 15th Anniversary festival!” Gonzalez said in an email to the board.

"Zenne Dancer," "Cloudburst" top list of FilmOut San Diego award winners

SAN DIEGO -- "Zenne Dancer," a remarkable film from Turkey based on the true story of Ahmet Yildiz who was murdered by his father in a homophobic "honor killing," and "Cloudburst," a romantic comedy from Canada that stars Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker, took home the most prizes from the 2012 FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival.

"Nate & Margaret," a quirky buddy movie that had its world premiere in San Diego, collected three major prizes.

FilmOut: Final day of movies caps off TONIGHT with world premiere of "Nate & Margaret"

SAN DIEGO -- The world premiere of "Nate & Margaret" will bring to a close FilmOut San Diego's 14th annual LGBT Film Festival, capping off an outstanding lineup of films that are on tap today, starting at noon.

Don't forget the Closing Night Party, which this year will be held in the lobby between the Birch North Park Theatre and West Coast Tavern, which is hosting the farewell event.

FilmOut: Day 4 kicks off at NOON with weekend crammed with great movies

SAN DIEGO -- Starting at noon today and Sunday, FilmOut San Diego's 14th annual LGBT Film Festival kicks off a full weekend packed with short films and full-length movies that will please just about everyone's movie tastes.

Dozens of movies will unspool at the historic Birch North Park Theatre, which has been buzzing since Opening Night on Wednesday with film fans and filmmakers chatting it up in the spacious lobby, meeting at the crowded bar at the attached West Coast Tavern, or perhaps by happenstance while exploring the hip and trendy neighborhood of North Park.

SAN DIEGO -- Day 2 of FilmOut San Diego's 14th annual LGBT Film Festival proved to be a big hit at the box office.

Attendance was solid for the "Positive Youth" documentary, sponsored by SDGLN media partner Gay San Diego and co-presented by Family Health Centers of San Diego.

SAN DIEGO – Following a very successful Opening Night showing of "Cloudburst" and a new Opening Night Party venue at the retro hip Claire de Lune/Sunset Temple Grand Room across the street from the historical Birch North Park Theatre, the 14th annual FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival continues today with yet another new twist.

Day Two of the film festival is a two-parter. The first part is an uplifting documentary about LGBT youth living positively with HIV, and the second part is targeted at audiences who want a night filled with belly laughs.
