BREAKING NEWS: Dwayne Crenshaw named executive director of San Diego LGBT Pride

SAN DIEGO -- Community leader Dwayne Crenshaw has been selected as the next executive director of San Diego LGBT Pride.

Crenshaw will take over on Monday, May 16. Frank G. Scarpaci, who has served as interim executive director since February, will assist in the transition.

For five years ending in December 2009, Crenshaw served as executive director of the Coalition of Neighborhood Councils (CNC), for which he spearheaded an effort to unite local citizens for creating neighborhood change.

BREAKING NEWS: Meredith Baxter named grand marshal for San Diego Pride

SAN DIEGO – Actress Meredith Baxter, who came out two years ago after an illustrious career in Hollywood spanning nearly 40 years, will be the grand marshal of this year’s San Diego LGBT Pride parade.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, starting near The Center and continuing through the heart of Hillcrest to Balboa Park.

These days, Baxter tours the national lecture circuit, raising awareness on issues such as breast cancer, domestic violence, alcoholism and school bullying.
