LOS ANGELES -- Cyndi Lauper, fresh from a whirlwind world tour, is headlining "An Evening With Women" at the chic Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 16. We recently caught up with her to ask about why she loves her LGBT fans; her new album, “Memphis Blues”; what's next for the True Colors tour; and what we should expect when she takes the stage at "An Evening with Women."

Center: We’re incredibly excited that you’ll be performing at this year's "An Evening With Women.". What made you decide to accept the invitation?

SAN DIEGO – You can enjoy one of the hottest food trends – and some of the most amazing cuisine – and support HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs at the same time.

On Thursday, April 28, a gathering of some of the area’s most sought-after food trucks will gather in the parking lot of The Center from 5 to 9 pm as part of the fifth annual Dining Out for Life San Diego.

Each will each donate a minimum of 25% of their day’s sales to the event. The Center is located at 3909 Centre St., San Diego, CA 92103.

SAN DIEGO -- More than 4,000 two-legged and 1,500 four-legged friends will take part in the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA’s 17th annual Walk for Animals on Saturday, May 7.

The event, titled Barkin’ Beach Bash, raises money so the organization can continue its wide range of programs to serve animals in the county.

Along with the walk, the event will include a complimentary pancake breakfast, doggie games, information booths, music and other festivities and activities that the entire community is welcome to participate in.
