DES MOINES, IowaRepublicans are again proposing a change in the Iowa Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Michigan tribe votes for marriage equality, but chairman could veto measure

HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich. – The tribal council of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians has voted 5-4 to approve marriage equality for tribal members.

Tribal chairman Dexter McNamara could veto the measure, which would then require a 7-2 vote to overrule the veto.

If the measure gets final approval, the tribe would join the Coquille tribe in Oregon and the Suquamish tribe in Washington state to allow same-sex marriage on their reservations.
