SYDNEY, New South Wales, Australia — An estimated 10,000 revelers marched along side 115 floats on Saturday in the annual gay pride parade that celebrates Mardi Gras in Sydney, Australia.

Members of Congress who believe that servicemembers' participation in an LGBT pride parade is equivalent to attending or speaking at a political or campaign rally in uniform have simply failed to do their research and apply common sense.

Senator Inhofe and his like-minded colleagues should spend some time actually meeting and talking with some of these gay troops and veterans instead of using their platform to try to bully the Pentagon into moving backwards.

SAN DIEGO – Longtime local gay activists Larry Baza and Jeri Dilno are being recognized as 2012 Local Heroes in an annual celebration of LGBT Pride Month sponsored by Union Bank in partnership with KPBS in San Diego.

LGBT Pride parades and festivals are a part of an American ritual.

In less than two weeks San Diego begins its version of what is now a nationally recognized tradition: LGBT Pride Weekend. While many communities have days that are cause for public celebrations, visible actions and collective remembering -- Martin Luther King Day, Cesar Chavez Day, St. Patrick's Day -- this one's ours. And it is widely recognized as one that is the most fun for the most people.

Despite threats, Moscow Gay Pride vows to march

Moscow Pride is going ahead on Saturday, May 28, despite its non-approval by the City government in defiance of a European Court of Human Rights decision. Far-right and Orthodox Church forces are planning a counter demonstration - approved by authorities - and already held one at the site last Saturday, delayed by rain, which one of the demonstrators blamed on the [Moscow Mayor] “Sobyanin lesbians.”
