TONIGHT: San Diego's LGBT community members to organize a Toast to Harvey Milk | VIDEO

SAN DIEGO -- In recognition of gay civil rights leader Harvey Milk's birthday, two community members have organized a walk of remembrance and a toast this evening from 7-8 pm.

Community members are invited to meet in front of The San Diego LGBT Community Center to take a stroll down the nation's first Harvey Milk Street, which was unveiled in Hillcrest a year ago. The street runs from Centre Street to Cleveland Avenue.

THURSDAY: Food Truck Fierceness to kick off annual Dining Out For Life

SAN DIEGO -- As the community gears up for the annual Dining Out for Life event next month, The San Diego LGBT Community Center will host Food Truck Fierceness on Thursday, March 21 from 5-8 pm.

The Center's parking lot will be filled with some of San Diego's favorite food trucks, including Chop Soo-ey, Mad Mantis, Not So Fast!, Pearson's Cajun, Two For The Road and Burger Lounge. As participants dine and enjoy the various selections from the food trucks, they will be entertained by the "Dining Out Divas" who will keep the party pumping with "dragioke" and special performances.

Mo's Universe launches Young Mo's Being gAy to raise money for Hillcrest Youth Center

SAN DIEGO -- To benefit the important organizations, charities and groups that serve San Diego’s LGBT community, the Mo’s Universe family of restaurants has created Young Mo’s Being gAy (YMBA), a new employee-giving program.

The goal of employees of Mo’s Universe-branded restaurants – Urban Mo’s, Baja Betty’s, Gossip Grill and Hillcrest Brewing Company – is to raise $20,000 in the first year of the program for the Hillcrest Youth Center (HYC), which has been selected as the inaugural beneficiary.

Hillcrest Brewing Company creates limited-edition gingerbread beer for holidays

SAN DIEGO -- The holidays wouldn't be complete without gingerbread ... in a bottle!

The world's first LGBT brewery, Hillcrest Brewing Company (HBC), will be releasing a limited edition Gingerbread Beer this holiday season, and its creators hope you get a chance to try it.

The beer is so limited, in fact, that only 75 bottles have been made so those interested in trying it are encouraged to head to HBC as soon as possible to put their name on the reservation list. Those who place their orders now will be able to pick up their bottle starting on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Hillcrest Brewing Company to participate in San Diego Beer Week

SAN DIEGO -- As part of San Diego Beer Week 2012, the Hillcrest Brewing Company will present the first “Hillcrest Taste About” on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 4-9 pm.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit 10 restaurants throughout the neighborhood while sampling great brews and food.

San Diego Beer Week encourages people to try out some of the great craft beers that are available throughout the county. In Hillcrest, the following restaurants will participate in the Taste About:

SAN DIEGO -- Hillcrest Brewing Company (HBC), the newest restaurant to join the Mo's Universe family, isn't going to let Urban Mo's, Baja Betty's, and Gossip Grill have all the Halloween fun, as the nation's first LGBT brewery hosts its first annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday, Oct. 25.

Customers are encouraged to bring in their best carved pumpkin and let HBC be the judge. All types of carved pumpkins are welcome - including the outrageous and wild!

SAN DIEGO -- To celebrate LGBT Pride, Mo’s Universe will present its first ever photo contest on the social media platform Instagram.

Customers and followers are encouraged to participate and have the chance to win great prizes from the company, which owns Urban Mo’s, Baja Betty’s, Gossip Grill and the new Hillcrest Brewing Company.

The competition will take place during June and July 2012 and have a different theme each week.
