Earlier this year, GLAAD released video footage from 1994 of Presidential candidate Mitt Romney saying: "I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue. I feel that all people should be able to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation."

WASHINGTON – Leaders of the Boy Scouts of America today reaffirmed their ban on gay Scouts and leaders after conducting a secret two-year review.

The unanimous vote, by an 11-member special committee, came despite calls from several national board members who said it was time to be inclusive. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson and Ernst & Young CEO James Turley, who serve on the national board, had urged the Scouts to change the policy.

The issue will not be considered by the national board due to the committee's unanimous vote.

Eagle Scout Zach Wahls delivers 275,000 signatures to Boy Scouts after gay mom ousted

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Eagle Scout and outspoken equality advocate Zach Wahls today delivered more than 275,000 signatures to the Boy Scouts of America calling on the group to end its long history of anti-gay discrimination and reinstate Ohio mom Jennifer Tyrrell, who in April was forcibly removed as den leader of her son's Boy Scouts troop because she's gay.
