Bartender challengers from across town such as Michael Calles, Erica Flores, Rob Baker, Britney Rae, and Justin Nelson will be in the running this year to determine who can concoct the best Stoli-based libation. The winner will advance to the finals being held in Palm Springs on May 30.

Cosmpolitan Las Vegas to hold giant same-sex wedding ceremony Thursday

LAS VEGAS -- To increase momentum for the state and national movement toward marriage equality, The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas are holding an event consisting of 36 LGBTQ and straight ally couples having a ceremony every five minutes for three hours at the resort’s Pop-Up Wedding Chapel on Thursday, May 2.

The broad range of couples, each holding a commitment ceremony, vow renewal ceremony or faux-ceremony, will be reading vows in support of marriage equality.

Dinah Vegas doubles attendance in second year

LAS VEGAS -- Ladies from around the globe descended on Las Vegas, as Girl Bar, in association with Truck Stop Girlz and Total Rewards by Caesars Entertainment, filled the city with tens of thousands of Lesbians for Dinah Vegas 2013.

The event (formerly known as Girl Bar Dinah Shore) is now in its second year in its new Vegas home, taking advantage of non-stop entertainment, food, beverages and gaming 24/7 in the city that never sleeps.

This weekend, 1202 nightclub in Hillcrest is having a huge “grand opening” celebration.

On Friday, starting at 10 pm, there will be an outrageous party with DJ Schoeny, go-go boys and hotties galore.

Then on Saturday, the opening celebrations continue with DJ Dawna Montel at the turntables, along with a hosted Svedka and Jagermeister bar from 9 to 10 pm with a Facebook or Foursquare check-in.

Federal court to hear Nevada marriage case

LAS VEGAS -- The U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada late Friday agreed to hear a lawsuit brought by Lambda Legal on behalf of eight same-sex couples challenging Nevada's law banning marriage for same-sex couples.

Gov. Brian Sandoval, joined by Carson City Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover, had moved to dismiss the case. Today, the Court agreed to hear that motion at the same time as hearing argument in the parties' motion for summary judgment.
