Bullies cut off hair of lesbian teen | VIDEO

VACAVILLE, Calif. -- Four girls and a boy lured a lesbian teenager into a remote area and cut off her ponytail in an apparent anti-gay hate crime, authorities say.

The crime happened so fast that the victim had no time to react, she told authorities. The attack left the lesbian teen with a bald spot on the back of her head. After making sure her daughter was safe, the girl's mother got an emergency hair appointment, and the hair stylist said it took her two hours to repair the damage. "It was really traumatic for her," the hair stylist told news10.net.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Two women have filed a lawsuit, claiming they were drugged and raped by employees of one of the hottest restaurant/bars in West Hollywood -- The Abbey.

The club has been a fixture in WeHo for 15 years. According to the lawsuit ... a gay woman who says she had never had sexual relations with a man was at The Abbey with her girlfriend in November 2011. She says she and her girlfriend had a fight, which upset the alleged victim. She ordered a drink at the bar and claims it was laced with a date rape drug.

Dinah Shore Weekend begins today

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Girl Power is in full effect.

Thousands of lesbians are in town for Dinah Shore Weekend and to take part in “The Dinah” — promoted as the largest lesbian festival in the world.

The four-day party begins in earnest today with a full festivities lineup of pool parties, concerts, a comedy show, celebrity poker and dodge ball, and general revelry that barely leaves attendees time to eat, joked event founder Mariah Hanson.

“It’s just a constant moving flow. From 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. it’s non-stop,” she said.

Florida appeals court upholds ruling that posting threats on Facebook is a felony

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Florida appeals court ruled Monday that posting threats on one’s personal Facebook page can be prosecuted under state law.

In a unanimous ruling, a three-judge panel on the 1st District Court of Appeals found that threatening statements posted by Timothy Ryan O’Leary could be considered “sending” for the purposes of the law.

Lesbian with partner and two kids wins the lottery

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Tara Tuttle won the lottery — and that wasn’t even the best thing that happened to her Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Coral Springs woman had just found out that her partner of seven years, Cary Tullos, did not have breast cancer after days of waiting for test results.

“That was the best day of my life,” she said Sunday.

It got better. That night, she bought a Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch-off ticket at Publix in Coral Springs while Tullos, 37, ran into the store for some conditioner.

The prize: $10 million.

Lesbian couple married in Coronado found dead in suspected murder-suicide

CORONADO, Calif. – A lesbian couple who married in Coronado on Sept. 22, 2007, were found dead Tuesday in their home in Phoenix, and authorities are calling it a murder-suicide.

Dallas Augustine, 32, shot to death her 50-year-old wife, Jessie McCaskill, then used the weapon on herself, Phoenix police told the media.

Augustine is the daughter of Nevada politician Kathy Augustine, who was murdered by her husband Chaz Higgs in 2006 in Reno.

Sketch of suspect released in shooting of Texas teen lesbian couple

PORTLAND, Texas -- Police have released a sketch of a suspect in the shooting of a South Texas couple that left one dead and another wounded last month.

With help from a witness, Portland police described the alleged gunman as a skinny male in his 20s, weighing 140 pounds. The sketch was released late Wednesday.

Mary Kristene Chapa, 18, and Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, were both found June 23 in a park with gunshot wounds to the head. Olgin died from her injuries and Chapa remains hospitalized.
