Realtor fired after distributing anti-gay flyer promoting "traditional" families

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — A Canadian real estate agent who distributed anti-gay marketing flyers promoting “traditional” families as “best for the future of the kids” has been terminated, according to his employer.

Andrew Ciastek, a sales representative for RE/MAX, was terminated for “poor judgment on his personal marketing,” said Christine Martysiewicz, director of internal and public relations for RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Allegations of scientific misconduct have prompted the University of Texas to investigate a professor's study that found adults with gay parents reported significantly different life experiences than the children of married, heterosexual biological parents.

The study, authored by associate professor of sociology Mark Regnerus, made a splash when it was published last month in the journal Social Science Research. It has since drawn criticism from scholars at UT and elsewhere.
