Doug Case honored by City of San Diego

SAN DIEGO -- March 13 was unlike any other day in San Diego, especially for SDSU employee, Doug Case.

“By the Council of the City of San Diego, that this Council, for and on behalf of the people of San Diego, does hereby declare March 13, 2013 to be “Doug Case Day,” announced city Councilmember Marti Emerald.

Case has been an active board member on the College Area Community Council for 27 years and has served as president for the past seven years. As of March 13, Case ended his term as president.

FREE: Learn life-saving skills this Saturday

SAN DIEGO – Councilmembers Todd Gloria and Marti Emerald invite all San Diegans to participate in Neighborhood Beat this Saturday, June 30, from 9 to 11 am at Joyce Beers Community Center, 3900 Vermont St. in Hillcrest.

Neighborhood Beat is a free citywide community CPR program done in partnership with Rural/Metro, the City’s emergency medical services provider, and participants will also learn how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

San Diegans react to Tuesday's primary election

SAN DIEGO – As the results of Tuesday’s California primary election settle, San Diegans expressed a number of feelings about the future of America's Finest City – depending on how the candidates of their choice faired.

While some races were settled outright because the candidate ran unopposed or received more than 50.1% of the total vote count, other races, including the San Diego mayoral contest, will be duked out in November at the general election.
